:o wow - excellent art & good feel for flow too - I'd love to see the whole thing ...  too bad it's not Uderzo doing it :(

Quick research seems to lead to the Italian comics "anonymous" section - and cover displays of what appears to be the same artist's doujin disney works also set in China & India ...  unfortunately I can see why it's anonymous.

I'd love to see an Asterix adventure set in China. I know it's a long way from Gaul, but somehow I just don't feel that the series would be complete without such an adventure. :(

Well, it seems closer than Tadsylwine, so there should be no problems with the distance.

Hello,

looks really interesting, but I'm afraid we never will get to know the whole story. I searched a bit in the internet and first of all I was very excited, when I found this cover from "Astérix et la grande muraille":
http://www.fumetti.org/asterix/astérixg ... raille.jpg

But very soon I found the explanation of all this. It seems that this was just an April fool. The script-writer Stefano Quaglia and the artist Silvano Beltramo produced this one page & cover to make a homage to René Goscinny. So, there is simply no further comic. Look here:
http://www.afnews.info/public/afnews/20 ... 56490,.htm

Unfortunately I don't know Italian, so I can't understanmd the whole message, but the english summary is quite clear.

Regards
Erik

PS: Here's another message (French) to confirm this:

Hello,

I just found another nice Asterix-picture on the same website. It contains a signature "Uderzo & Goscinny":

Do you think this one is really from Uderzo?... I like it, anyway.

Erik

Although it was indeed just an April fool, I would certainly like to see something like "Asterix & The Great Wall" actually realised. :)
It looks like the rest of the article is concerned with an apparent violation of copyright involving two websites which doesn't appear to have anything to do with Asterix, and in any case it appears to me to be another 'April fool' prank (if my Italian serves me correctly). :)

Hard to be certain, but it looks a lot more like the real thing  :D ("In China" was excellent art but you could easily see the underlying style was not Uderzo's) ... tho' if so it's fairly old - quite likely during Goscinny's lifetime.

And looking at the signature it strikes me (with Falling Sky's tribute to WD fresh in my mind) how similar Rene Goscinny's writing is to Disney's ...

now we can be almost certain. There has been an eBay-auction about this. It seems to be really from Uderzo himself. Look here:

Regarding Asterix in China:

Wouldn't we all want to see Asterix going to many new places, like Russia, Japan, Australia, the Incas, Maya or Aztects lands. But the likelyhood is that there will only be one more book at most, unless new people will write the books after the death of Uderzo.

To bad it wont happent. As it was mention while ago, Uderzo don't want enny body New to write Asterix book's after he is gone.

He may have a point.
Uderzo is Asterix father and whe now al the characters as his own children and new writers would do Asterix book acordnig what they see Asterix...

Herge said the same for his works, though one of his 'Quick and flupke' books was done later by his friend's son, Jahem de Moor. Edgar P. Jacobs, on the other hand allowed others to continue his Blake and mortimer books, and new ones are released all the time, and also if Uderzo was Asterix's father, was Goskinny his mother?
